Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 06/27/09 Show Notes
Remember that little passage from Lord Action that "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"?
Well, that's not what he REALLY said. And his warning was not just about power. What he was REALLY talking about was something that has still gone on unheeded, and something that I've been talking about for quite some time.
Plus... a strip club owner sues a 14-year old girl's parents. Why? Because they have to. Sounds crazy? Once you hear the REAL reason, it will all make sense.
All of that, plus another trip down the Brutally Honest Archives, is TONIGHT (06/27) here on ShockNet Radio at 7pm Eastern Time (6pm Norman time and 4pm Hefner Time) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under either "Classic Rock" or "Talk/Spoken Word" categories.
And don't forget that I'll be in the chatroom during the show! Just go to www.shocknetradio.com and look for the Chatroom button, then log in with any name you want (except for mine), then double-click on "Show Rooms" and then double-click on "Brutally Honest" and you'll see me there!

Yes, the economy is THIS bad
Obviously it's supposed to be satirical, but this is exactly the kind of gutless measure that corporations would come up with.

ShockNet Radio scoops Cable News
ShockNet Radio Scoops Cable News on Jackson Death
June 25th, 2009 (Get Brutal Productions), Norman OK - Listeners to the Internet-based ShockNet Radio were shocked and surprised when station owner RJ Evans interrupted the normal rock programming to announce the passing of pop superstar Michael Jackson.
But what made the announcement significant was that the news came at least ten minutes before the news reached the major cable news channels.
Evans received word through websites TMZ and Huffington Post that Jackson had in fact died and cut into the live Internet radio show at 5:15pm Central Time, even while cable news channels were still claiming that Jackson was only hospitalized and presumed still alive. At 5:18pm Central Time, the Los Angeles Times followed suit with their announcement of Jackon's passing. MSNBC followed at 5:20pm Central, mirroring the Times report, followed by the other news services at 5:30pm Central
Emergency officials were summoned to Jackson's residence just after 2pm Central Time, and was soon after rushed to the hospital suffering from a cardiac arrest. According to TMZ, medical officials were unable to revive Jackson at the hospital. His health was considered a constant problem in his life, although Jackson was reportedly preparing for a world comeback tour.

Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 06/20/09 Show Notes
As the situation in Iran boils over, I give a special look at what is going on there, what are the factors behind this unrest, and what needs to be done... and especially what the US needs to do (or NOT do).
Plus... death in comics... why is death meaningless in comics nowadays? Does it have to do with the violence? Or does it really have to do with the revolving door to the underworld? We'll deal with the matter of life and death and life.
All of that, plus the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT and the return of the Unflushed Awards, is TONIGHT (06/20) here on ShockNet Radio at 7pm Eastern Time (6pm Norman time and 4pm Hefner Time) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under either "Classic Rock" or "Talk/Spoken Word" categories.

The Ten Demandments
Here's a quick sampler...
DEMANDMENT ONE:
MY RELIGION IS THE ONE TRUE RELIGION. Thou shall recognize no other religion but my own. All others shall be called “cults” or “fads” or “beliefs”, but they shall NEVER be given the same respect as the ONE TRUE RELIGION.DEMANDMENT TWO:
THOU SHALL NOT question my religion, or any aspect thereof, or any interpretations thereof. Nor shall you make my religion the subject of mockery or ridicule, for the ONE TRUE RELIGION is a VAIN religion, and it DEMANDS absolute obedience and unquestionable reverence.
You can see the rest here.
Now this actually goes hand-in-hand with this week's column, which talks about the hidden rules when it comes to the government. In both instances, we're talking about double-standards, and we're SEEING those double-standards in play.
These are the double-standards that insiders claim really don't exist, but somehow they still manage to manifest themselves. Only now, someone like yours truly has come out and actually put them to WORDS.
So please, check out both articles and please feel free to leave your comments in them.

Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 06/13/09 Show Notes
Tonight...
It's not often that a blast from the Brutally Honest past takes center stage, but this week one such rant does. What is that rant about? Well, if you check the calendar and see what is coming up, and if you know anything about the world of Brutally Honest, then you might have a clue as to what it could be.
Plus an update on a recent act of Christo-Jihadist terrorism, the counting down on the relevancy of "Hysteria Barbie", and is there really a method to the cons and neo-con madness? Or have they already descended into madness and are hell-bent on taking the US with them?
All of that is TONIGHT (06/13) here on ShockNet Radio at 7pm Eastern Time (6pm Norman time and 4pm Hefner Time) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under either "Classic Rock" or "Talk/Spoken Word" categories.
And don't forget that I'll be in the chatroom during the show! Just go to www.shocknetradio.com and look for the Chatroom button, then log in with any name you want (except for mine), then double-click on "Show Rooms" and then double-click on "Brutally Honest" and you'll see me there!

Oh, and if you want to see more of my friend Jenny... here's her interview...
Part 1
Part 2
You know us media personalities, we gotta back each other up! Speaking of which, I can't wait until I can get Jenny on my show!

Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 06/06/09
Tonight...
Upset? Yeah, I guess I am about recent events. There are certain players who have been playing a VERY DANGEROUS game with this country. Dangerous enough for people to get hurt over it, dangerous enough for people to get KILLED over it, and these players think that they can pull the strings and then walk away without any kind of accountability for it. Guess what? THAT ENDS! He who pompously thinks himself above judgment WILL be judged TONIGHT!
And... what's up with NASA? Why is it important for us to look up at the stars? I'll explain why.
Oh, and remember when I said something strange happened on ShockNet Radio this week? You'll find out what it was.
All of that and the latest news, including someone who actually lost his JOB because he DARED to question the "Mighty Limbaugh" is all TONIGHT (06/06) here on ShockNet Radio at 7pm Eastern Time (6pm Norman time and 4pm Hefner Time) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under either "Classic Rock" or "Talk/Spoken Word" categories.

Something strange happened today
From Norman, Oklahoma, RJ Evans cut in with some quick comments about upcoming programs. He was joined in with live discussions from none other than the Brutal One from Get Brutal Productions over in Atlanta, Georgia.
That's right, RJ and D2 working together for the first time, live on the air, even though they are a timezone away.
Listeners to the program would later comment that the quality of the exchange was not only professional, but that it sounded like the two of them were in the same room, when they really were several states away.
The impromptu broadcast comes as the two were testing new software that they plan to use for future ShockNet programming. Further details will be forthcoming, although the on-air conversation did make mention of someone returning to ShockNet Radio on September 4th, described as "mean, nasty, and really pissed-off". On-air references were accompanied by the sound of a ticking clock similar to one used in "24".
Just the first of several changes in the weeks and months ahead on ShockNet Radio!
(See? It pays to listen in, even when there's music playing!)
