New podcast is online with iTunes
The end result? "David 2's Media" disappeared from iTunes.
Well the archive is back, and it's back on iTunes again, only this time I have GREATER control over the look and feel, and that is reflected in the iTunes layout.
SO... if you need your Brutally Honest fix, please go fire up the iTunes browser and do a search for...
"Brutally Honest on ShockNet Radio"
(Or just click on the link and it'll fire up the iTunes player automatically and take you there.)
Then click the SUBSCRIBE button and you will once again have access to all of the previous shows.
There is a catch, though... because the setup for this took so long to do, I could only get in the material since the start of the new season in January. But I still have the original archive and you can catch up to all of the previous shows I've done in 2008.
So it's back, and I hope those that have been subscribing to the podcasts continue to do so with the new link.
Oh, and be sure to sound off to let me know what you think of the shows!

Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 04/25/09 Show Notes
Tonight's program is certainly pretty full.
First, things are not bright and rosy when you're outspoken... as I mention on the show, ShockNet Radio's CEO RJ Evans recently got a yet another threatening message, but how he handles it is classic and courageous. Here's the link to his weblog site. And be sure to let him know what you think of his response.
Then, I have an update on a news story I mentioned last week. If you had any money in Vegas on this happening, I'm sure you made out big. Plus some torturing news about torture, including a great clip from a FoxSpin commentator, and an initiation that is so far going unanswered.
Then we have a trip in the wayback machine to a certain rant from 2006. Think the problems we are facing right now with the economy came as a surprise? Think again!
Then I have a special rant about a certain problem that affects a lot of people, and in a way that they may not even realize. What is it? You'll have to tune in to find out.
All of that and then some is TONIGHT (04/25) here on ShockNet Radio at 7pm Eastern Time (6pm Norman time and 4pm Hefner Time) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under either "Classic Rock" or "Talk/Spoken Word" categories.

Audio changes
This time it's the folks at Ourmedia, which oversees my archives.
Oh don't worry, the archives are still there! It's just that the streaming links to some of the shows have been changed, so now I have to step in and fix the matter. This will also have an effect on my iTunes podcasts.
If you come across some of the bad links, PLEASE let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 04/18/09 Show Notes
Tonight I have a follow-up to last week's talk about taxes and REAL tax reform. How do the things I talked about differ from the rhetoric from the "tea parties"? Plus, why do I have a beef with MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on this subject? You'll just have to tune in to find out.
Also, the GOP seems to be on a one-track express-train to oblivion. What does it take to bring it back from extinction? And do the members of that party really WANT to get it off it's road to oblivion? Find out what they will have to do and why they won't do it.
All of that and then some is TONIGHT (04/18) here on ShockNet Radio at 7pm Eastern Time (6pm Norman time and 4pm Hefner Time) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under either "Classic Rock" or "Talk/Spoken Word" categories.

Blog Against Theocracy 2009
I'll start off with a great video clip from President Obama saying what should have been said a long time ago...
It was the Treaty of Tripoli that officially established that America was never intended to be a Christian Nation. And it was a treaty that was originally ratified by the Senate without objection. Unfortunately not long after that, religious extremists forced the Senate to reconsider that ratification and adopted a new treaty which removed that simple declaration.
It's a message that gets lost in a sea of evangelical self-righteousness spewing from ministers and moralists and parents groups one and all, seeking to validate their beliefs through government. They search for that ultimate endorsement, the great big rubber stamp that says that their beliefs are THE beliefs. It's the dysfunctional quest that has plagued mankind for countless centuries.
Turn on Showtime and watch "The Tudors" if you don't believe me! The Reformation under King Henry VIII was more than just about a pissing contest between a king and a pope! It was a power struggle for supremacy over the masses. The unmentioned and unforgivable sins of those days, committed by layman and clergy alike, are still being visited in the here and now. They're renewed by every self-righteous minister that waves the false flag of a "Christian America", and by every pompous jackass that looked at that clip of President Obama and screamed obscenities because it DARED to defy their personal dogma. They ARE no different than the pompous asses of Henry VIII and his myrmidons.
The Reformation is just one of many reasons WHY America NEEDS to keep church and state separate, because TRUE religious freedom cannot happen as long as one faith or general belief is favored by government.
And the truly devout, the ones that are confident in their faith and truly believe they are on the right path, do not need outside endorsements to validate their beliefs. It's only the dysfunctional that cling to that need for absolute validation.
Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 04/11/08 Show Notes
April 15th is fast approaching!
TAX DAY! TAX DAY!
Head for the hills! Lock your valuables! Hide the women and children! The Taxman a-commith!
Too much hysteria for you? Be sure to let your local news people know that this week, because that's the sort of hype they want you to feel.
Anyway, this week's show is about TAXES, and specifically the dogmatic statements behind the system as it is right now, and why it's so hard to fix the system to one that truly reflects what America is supposed to represent! And to get the point across, I have to sacrifice a few sacred cows, as well as give you a quick history lesson about how the Romans used to operate. You remember the Roman Empire, don't you? It's what the White House tried to emulate for the past eight years. Only which KIND of Rome were they trying to emulate? To get my point across, I had to use the example of ONE Emperor that has a particular connection to our former Doofus-in-Chief. Who is that emperor? You'll just have to tune in tonight and find out!
Also I have some sad news in the world of online gaming. This is something that my friends at City of Heroes need to pay attention to. One of gaming's founding members was lost this week. Who is he and what was his significance to online gaming? You have to listen to find out.

NO I am not on Twitter!
Listen, I have a hard enough time getting people to read my blogs, read my columns, listen to my show, and watch my videos, not to mention getting involved with Facebook and MySpace. Why should I be wasting my time getting involved with YET ANOTHER so-called "social networking experience" that will do nothing but ignore me?
Answer me that, Twitter-heads! Why should I waste my time talking about how miserable and lonely I feel at any given moment of any given day? The people that I WANT to keep in touch with sometimes don't even give me the time of day, and you want me to waste my time talking about what I'm doing at any given second of my life?
Micro-blogging during certain activities, such as an awards show, or the State of the Union speech, is understandable. But micro-blogging about how much you like your PBJ sandwich and that you think the CNN morning anchor has nice boobs is just TOO MUCH INFORMATION! (Well, okay, maybe not so much as the latter part of it...)
Twitter Craze...
And this is what I think of it...

Brutally Honest on ShockNet - 04/04/09 Show Notes
I have a couple of announcements to kick of tonight's program. The first involves a schedule change, and the second involves a certain project that I've been busy working on. What is it? You'll just have to tune in to hear it.
Then it's on to a question that I'm sure some of the listeners have been wondering about. Why am I knocking on a certain group in society? Which group am I talking about? If you've been listening in for a while you'd know, but if not, I'll explain why in detail.
Then it's the latest in "Dangerous Words". And this one comes by request. Who and what will be explained in detail. And the history of this particular political buzzword will surprise you!

Not a joke... Happy 13th Anniversary Brutally Honest
- Taco Bell buying the Liberty Bell
- Arming the Homeless
- City of Heroes MMO going back to DOS format
- And of course the dreaded Rickroll!
But there is one thing that stands out as well every April 1st, and that is the day when yours truly uploaded the very first Brutally Honest rant, which you can read here.
Sadly, AOL decided to kill all members pages a few months ago, but thanks to the Wayback Machine, you can see how things USED to be. And of course things are still progressing here.
So 13 years of Brutally Honest commentary and still going... and here's hoping it continues to go on and on.
