Brutally Honest - LIVE! - 08/12/13 - Show Notes

Remember Court TV?

That's the cable channel that was supposed to be all about court cases.  Every kind of court case you can get, from OJ Simpson to the local murder cases, were discussed.  Obviously the Supreme Court decisions played a role with them as well.

Well Court TV pretty much died in 2008 when it was "re-branded" as "TruTV" and began running mindless programming.  Oh, wait, they were doing that back in 2004.

Anyway, Court TV may be dead, but why does it seem like its ghost lives on through other channels?

Daytime television is still apparently fixated on certain court cases, from Casey Anthony to George Zimmerman, and everyone wants to dissect the proceedings.  Hundreds of so-called "legal experts" and thousands of armchair consultants all break down each and every action in the case, second-guessing testimony and legal tactics and trying to read the minds of the players. And it's apparently working, or else people like Nancy Grace and Greta Van Sustren would be virtual nobodies.

So the discussion subject for this week is all about the Court of Television. Should there BE one? Should we BE second-guessing the proceedings?

And WHAT KIND of trials should we be looking at? Here in Atlanta, we have the perjury trial of Andrea Sneiderman versus the corruption trial of Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill.  Sex-Lies-and-Murder versus Politicians-Gone-Wild... you can guess which one the media here is fixated on. But are they fixated on the WRONG case? I want to know what you think about this whole thing!

Be sure to tune in THIS MONDAY (08/12), right here on ShockNet Radio at 8pm Eastern (7pm Central and 5pm Pacific) over at www.shocknetradio.com and also at Apple's iTunes Radio Player under the "Classic Rock" category.
