Post-Show Thoughts - 1/23

I'm not going to do this for every show, but I thought I'd give a few thoughts about tonight's show.

First, thank you to everyone that tuned in for the first show of 2012, and those that showed up in the chat room. It was great to see previous listeners and even better to see new listeners show up in the chat room.

There was a lot that went on in preparing for this new season. RJ managed to cobble together a brand-new theme song for the show, which I've incorporated into the opening, ending, and each of the commercial breaks of the show. A lot of thanks goes to RJ for doing that, because this is 100% all his creation. He even did the voice-over introduction this time around.

Some elements were still very new and need to be tweaked a little more. The intro to the new "Welcome to the Plunder" segment certainly needs to be tweaked up a bit. We're trying to also get more commercial spots, such public service messages, so we're not recycling the same ones over and over like we've been doing.

In terms of subject matter, I was pleased to see the positive response in the chat room over matters of the economy, especially when it came to the parasitic philosophy of plunder. Believe me, you'll be hearing that term more and more in 2012. Also, some pretty strong views about the GOP contenders.

Well, that was the first show of the year, and if you missed it, don't worry, we'll have the archive up next week. And be sure to check out the rest of the new ShockNet schedule this week as all of our shows will be back on the air at their new or returning times.
